Here I am sitting in the study on the computer. I never intended to be in the study on the computer right now, I only planned on being here maybe 5-minutes to check my email. Unfortunately, someone invented YouTube which completely ruined my plans! Well anyway, so since I was only planning on being up here for a little while I left the TV downstairs on - and it’s reasonably loud… A little while ago I also turned on the TV upstairs in my room. (Yes, I know I’m going to hell for not conserving energy to save the planet. Bad David…!) WELL, let me tell you what happened THEN…

So here I am sitting in the study and it’s 8pm, so half the channels swap to the nights movie while others recap news and such - but this news sounded a little different. Yes, I have to admit that it DID sound different largely because the person in the little box just so happens to be speaking arabic. No, I don’t watch arabic news very often either. But that’s not it. Just as the arabic news started a background track appeared… A very dramatic background track… One of those ones that people use in movies and such for the big emotional effect…
So here I am, sitting on the computer with the arabic news with a big dramatic orchestra piece playing along behind it… I figure it’s either one of two things: it’s not the news, or something really bad and dramatic has happened somewhere in the world (or they’re playing a tribute to someone/something, but how often does THAT happen?). Long story short - I’m sitting there thinking the world is ending, half of the middle-eastern region was blown up and is now a gaping hole that is slowly spreading and engulfing the world. WE ALL HAVE ONLY 27 HOURS TO LIVE. (Dramatic? Maybe… But at least I’ll be the one prepared!) So with this in mind I decided to give up on the charlieissocoollike video to investigate (sorry Charlie, but it had to be done for the greater good - I MUST know what is happening!). So naturally, since I can hear it so clearly I go to the TV right next to me in my room since I can hear it so clearly and then it all becomes horribly clear to me… I see what has happened……………….. I left the TV downstairs turned up too loud and the opening track of “The Day After Tomorrow” was playing. No gaping hole, no preparations needed.
Crisis averted. Back to YouTube.
How do you prepare for a gaping hole in the ground that’s slowly collapsing and engulfing the world?
